Technical bulletins and extension bulletins depicting the technology developed at the Institute on various aspects related to potato development and production are available at nominal cost. The packages of practices for potato cultivation are however supplied free. The contact person is Head, Division of Social Sciences, Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla-171 001 (HP).
The library at the Institute’s headquarter at Shimla is one of the largest libraries in the South East Asia on potato having about 42,000 documents and subscribes to about 450 current periodicals. A comprehensive computerized database on Indian potato literature since 1901 and potato theses covering period 1937-1995 is available. The library at Shimla as well as its libraies lat regional stations are open for the all scientists engaged in potato research in the country and also to other readers/workers/farmers who are interested on getting information on potato. The timings are as per office hours which at Shimla are 9.30AM to 4.30PM with Sunday and holidays off.
